THE LOWDOWN

CRYSTAL PALACE

  • Just as many teams have found in the past, holding on to a lead against Man City is no easy task and Crystal Palace were the latest team to fall victim to a comeback from Pep Guadiola’s men when they lost 4-2 at the Etihad on Saturday.
  • Wilfried Zaha missed out against City with a minor injury but could make it back in time to feature, while Tyrick Mitchell is also carrying a knock after being forced off on the weekend.

BRENTFORD

  • Brentford battled to a 1-1 draw against Everton on Saturday in a game that could have yielded three points for the Bees had they been more clinical in front of goal.
  • Pontus Jansson was a surprise omission against Everton and the centre-back will need to be assessed for his availability, while Kristoffer Ajer could feature but Sergi Canos and Ethan Pinnock are still absent.

THE TEAM NEWS

CRYSTAL PALACE

PREDICTED XI (5-4-1): Guaita; Clyne, Ward, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Ayew, Doucoure, Schlupp, Eze; Mateta

UNAVAILABLE: Butland (Injured), Ferguson (Injured), Tomkins (Injured), McArthur (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Mitchell (Injured), Zaha (Injured)

BRENTFORD

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Raya; Hickey, Jansson, Mee, Henry; Da Silva, Janelt, Jensen; Mbeumo, Toney, Wissa

UNAVAILABLE: Canos (Injured), Pinnock (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Jansson (Injured), Ajer (Fitness)

THE PREDICTION

Thomas Frank was full of praise for his side’s performance against Everton on Saturday despite the fact they only had a point to show for it, while Patrick Vieira similarly had plenty of positives to take from Palace’s defeat to Man City. Both sides will not be short on confidence here then, and this should be a closely-fought affair between two organised teams. With little to separate them right now, backing the draw could be the way to go, although under 2.5 goals also holds some appeal

TIP: DRAW
