THE LOWDOWN

BRIGHTON

  • Brighton have received plenty of plaudits so far this season with Graham Potter’s well-drilled side operating effectively in both defence and attack, with away wins over West Ham and Forest Green Rovers – in the Premier League and League Cup respectively – to speak of in the last week.
  • Potter made wholesale changes for the midweek cup tie but the likelihood is that he reverts to the same side that saw off West Ham, with Jakub Moder and Jeremy Sarmiento the only injury absentees at present.

LEEDS UTD

  • It has been a superb start to the season for Jesse Marsch’s had-working Leeds side and they were fully deserving of their 3-0 victory over Chelsea last weekend, while a midweek League Cup victory has done no harm to their confidence.
  • Although Patrick Bamford is in contention for a return, Marsch will see no reason to change things up in terms of personnel, especially as Rodrigo is operating so effectively as the central forward right now.

THE TEAM NEWS

BRIGHTON

PREDICTED XI (3-5-1-1): Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Webster; March, Gross, Mac Allister, Caicedo, Trossard; Lallana; Welbeck

QUESTIONABLE:

LEEDS UTD

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Meslier; Kristensen, Koch, Llorente, Struijk; Adams, Roca; James, Aaronson, Harrison; Rodrigo

UNAVAILABLE: Ayling (Injured), Firpo (Injured), Dallas (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

This should be a fascinating contest between two teams who have made hugely positive starts to season, with both Brighton and Leeds sitting on seven points after three games. It is fair to say that Leeds performing so well – especially given that they lost some key players over the summer – is more of a surprise, and it seems only inevitable that they will be brought back to reality soon. Having conceded just once in the Premier League so far, Brighton have been the more solid outfit of the two and they look more capable of continuing their good run. This should be a close contest, but draw no bet on the hosts is worth looking at.

TIP: BRIGHTON DRAW NO BET
