THE PREDICTION

Bottom placed Sheffield Utd gained a morale boasting 2-3 win at the weekend against League One side Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup third round. Manager Chris Wilder will be hoping that the win gives his team a confidence boost as they return to Premier League action here against Newcastle. The Magpies are in a poor run of form right now and are starting to look nervously over their shoulder after failing to win any of their last five league fixtures. However, the visitors took a liking to Sheffield Utd last season, beating them in both league fixtures without conceding a goal and when taking into account the woeful campaign currently being endured by the Blades alongside the experience of Newcastle, Steve Bruce’s side should have enough quality within their ranks to secure a hard fought three points in this one.
