THE PREDICTION

Preston once again cannot seem to put together a consistent run of positive results, with defeat in midweek away at Barnsley their second loss in a row, both coming after a fantastic 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough. Manager Alex Neil will be left scratching his head and needs to pick his side up for the visit of Bristol City, who themselves are going through a period of inconsistency. Their surprise loss to Millwall last time out was also their second defeat in a row. With both sides perhaps low on confidence heading into this match, it could be set for quite a turgid encounter as the two teams scratch around for some kind of momentum. With injuries to key players on each side, this will affect how Alex Neil and Dean Holden go about setting up their respective starting line-ups, leading to both teams cancelling each other out and having to settle for a point apiece.
