THE PREDICTION
With just one draw apiece in a run of four losses each over their last five Eredivisie matches the winter break could not have come quick enough for both VVV and Willem II. As they resume their league campaigns in 2021 they find themselves level on just nine points each from 14 matches played and this match looks a real benchmark for the second half. VVV were arguably in the worse shape before the break, conceding 14 goals over five matches and on a four-game losing streak whilst Willem II conceded one goal fewer and did break their torrid run with a remarkable 1-1 draw at home to the current league leaders Ajax. With neither side wanting to concede ground to ADO Den Haag and Emmen below them, this could be a rather drab and tetchy match more focused on not losing rather than winning.
