THE PREDICTION
A 0-1 defeat at home to Heracles before the winter break was out of character for an impressive Groningen side who had gone on a five-match unbeaten run before that, claiming four wins on the bounce against AZ amongst others. They will hope that to be a simple anomaly but travel to Utrecht to find their hosts in some resilient form. Utrecht have lost just one of their last seven Eredivisie matches, to PSV, and held Feyenoord and most recently AZ to respectable draws in the process. The reverse of this fixture back in October saw a 0-0 stalemate but there is likely to be a goal or two in this encounter. Furthermore, the home side has not won this fixture since 2017 in all competitions and so draw no bet in favour of Groningen and less than 2.5 goals scored looks reasonable.
