THE TEAM NEWS
BRAZIL
- Brazil have made a statement start to the Copa America having won their opening two matches by an aggregate score of 7-0 thanks to a 4-0 success over Peru in their latest contest, and their status as pre-tournament favourites looks fully justified. The hosts are being heavily backed in the UK as well as in the States, with bet-delaware.com containing the latest information around sports betting in Delaware.
- Alex Sandro’s 12th-minute effort put the Brazilians ahead and while their following three goals from Neymar, Everton and Richarlison did not come until the final 25 minutes, their will to find the back of the net was evident and eventually rewarded.
- Brazil have now won their last nine games in all competitions and will be confident of extending that run after such a good start here but there could be more rotation to their side for this one with Richarlison hoping for a recall following his late goal.
COLOMBIA
- Columbia were unable to maintain their unbeaten start to the Copa America as they suffered a disappointing defeat to Peru last time out and they will face a tall order to put that behind them as they come up against Brazil.
- The Columbians were once again punished for being wasteful in front of goal but unlike their game with Venezuela where they could at least collect a point from their goalless draw, Peru were able to condemn them to defeat.
- Miguel Borja’s second half penalty was the only time they could find the back of the net and while they may look to field a more defensive line-up here to try and contain the threat of the Brazilians, changes could be in the offing further up the pitch too.
THE PREDICTION
Brazil have sent out a message to the rest of the teams in the Copa
America with their strong start to the competition and while they know
bigger tests are to come, they have done everything asked of them so
far. Columbia could be potentially difficult opponents here but they
have made an underwhelming start to proceedings and went down to Peru
last time out. They have struggled in front of goal with just two goals
from three games, one of which came via the penalty spot. Those issues
up front should be heightened against a Brazilian side yet to concede
and it would be a surprise if Brazil failed to make this ten straight
wins in all competitions.
