Fabian Marozsan vs Arthur Rinderknech prediction
Fabian Marozsan has found form at the start of the year and will head into the Australian Open with momentum behind him. The Hungarian did make a poor start, as he lost to Yibing Wu in Hong Kong, but he produced a fantastic level in Auckland as he won three matches in a row, including victories over defending champion Gael Monfils and three-time Grand Slam finalist Casper Ruud, to make the last four. He put up a strong fight against Jakub Mensik but went down in three sets.
He takes on Arthur Rinderknech in round one. The Frenchman has only competed at the United Cup in the lead up to the major. He lost to veteran Stan Wawrinka in his first singles match but did win against Flavio Cobolli. 2025 was Rinderknech’s best season to date on tour, as he reached the final of a Masters 1000 in Shanghai and crept inside the top 30 of the rankings.
Despite Rinderknech being seeded, Marozsan has an opportunity here. He’s a stylish player and could trouble the Frenchman, whose game can be prone to being slightly one-dimensional.
