Paris Moran: The Texan looks to finally earn his ticket to the big leagues
Paris Moran (14-3) is no stranger to facing UFC level competition, having shared the cage with the likes of Joshua Van and Alden Coria throughout his career. However, it’s slightly telling that both of those fights saw him lose by way of KO, even if the Coria win was eventually overturned to a NC after he tested positive for marijuana. Moran is a well-rounded combatant who has fought the entirety of his career in Fury FC, where he was a two-time flyweight champion. However, he’s not the most prolific finisher on the regional circuit, with just six victories coming by way of stoppage.
Marcos Degli: "Tailandes" arrives at the Apex in search of another brutal finish
Widely touted as one of the best flyweights currently operating outside of the UFC, Marcos Degli (14-3) rides a twelve fight win streak into his Contender Series debut. A two-time defending champion in LFA, “Tailandes” is a powerful KO artist with solid jiu jitsu in his back pocket, finishing all but one of his professional wins inside the distance. The 26 year old Brazilian has murderous stopping power for a flyweight and fights at an extremely high pace, typically chaining together dynamic attacks on the feet and finishing with ferocious GNP.

Moran is one of the more well-versed flyweight veterans still operating on the regional circuit, but I think he’s probably getting smoked here.
Joshua Van and Alden Coria both provided the blueprint to beat Moran, namely, marching forward and landing bombs on the American as he backs up. Degli has yet to prove that he’s on Coria’s level, let alone that of the current flyweight kingpin, but he fits the mold of a powerful striker with heavy pressure that Moran has struggled with in the past. He’s also been beating much more solid levels of competition in his current hot streak; Moran is one fight removed from beating an opponent who was 4-9-1.
Degli is an aggressive fast starter under normal circumstances, and with a UFC contract on the line, I think he’s going to come out of the blocks like an enraged bull here. I see him backing Moran up with spiteful combinations in the early goings, corralling the Texan against the fence before bombing him out in highlight reel fashion.
