Damian Piwowarczyk: "Damsyn" aims to leverage his experience into a UFC contract
Currently riding a three fight win streak with all three wins coming by way of stoppage, Damian Piwowarczyk (11-4) debuts on the Contender Series after fighting the majority of his career in well-regarded Polish promotion, KSW. A towering light heavyweight who stands 6’6” tall with a 79” reach, “Damsyn” trains under former UFC alum, Bartosz Fabinski. While he’s been stopped twice on the regional circuit, he’s typically the one doing the stopping, with just one of his eleven wins coming by way of decision.
Emilio Quissua: Can the German maintain his undefeated professional record?
Undefeated in eight fights as a professional, Emilio Quissua (8-0) makes his Contender Series bow following impressive showings in Oktagon and UAE Warriors. Training under former UFC welterweight, Peter Sobotta, the 29 year old German is a heavy-handed striker who likes to feint and switch stances to set up his powerful 1-2. Boasting five wins by KO, “Rixa” is the perfect build for the weight class at 6’4,” with his long frame allowing him to punish opponents at range before he finishes them off with GNP.

If Quissua is able to drop Piwowarczyk in the early goings, I don’t think the Pole is going to get back up. The German has proven to have extremely nasty, accurate GNP, with the majority of his finishes coming via ground strikes after he stuns and drops his opponent.
However, I’m still leaning towards Piwowarczyk here. “Damsyn” is a solid striker with excellent power in his own right and brings a pressure to proceedings that I don’t think Quissua has experienced to date. He can be a bit open on the feet but he absolutely unloads when he’s able to corral his opponents up against the cage. The Pole also looks to have an edge in terms of grappling, with an ability to punish poorly timed shots with an excellent guillotine.
It’s going to be close but I rate Piwowarczyk’s experience and body of work a bit higher than Quissua’s. “Damsyn’s” porous defence and tendency to move backwards means that I wouldn’t be surprised to see Quissua catch him and put him away, but the tentative pick is Piwowarczyk by finish.
