Alvi Dasuyev (9-0) has plenty of aura about him, touching down on the Contender Series with an undefeated record and a 100% finish rate. Turning professional after an impressive, lengthy amateur career that saw him earn silver at the IMMAFs, "Spartan" has been flawless throughout his pro career to date, earning a number of stunning KOs on the European regional scene. He's not just a striker either; Dasuyev has a solid choke game to fall back on when he isn't able to brutalize his opponents with strikes, a state of affairs underlined by three submission victories.

Unbeaten across six professional fights, Sikjitsu prospect, Jaden Ortega (6-0) arrives on the Contender Series with a lengthy highlight reel in tow. A dangerous KO artist with a flashy kicking game and an arsenal of dynamic striking techniques, Ortega has scored a number of spectacular finishes throughout his young career, including a flying knee and multiple head kick KOs. However, while he looks like an extremely exciting prospect on paper, his resume is not the best, with many of his wins coming against outmatched competition and journeymen.

This is another matchup that looks like a certified banger. Both men are prolific finishers who like to use flashy striking techniques, meaning that this one could well end in a jaw-dropping highlight reel KO.
Ortega looks to be a fun prospect, but I’m leaning towards Dasuyev in this one. Both men match up fairly evenly in terms of size and reach, but Dasuyev looks to have fought better levels of competition, in addition to having a slight edge in terms of overall experience. He’s also much more well-rounded and has a proven submission game, offering him another route to victory if he isn’t able to secure a stoppage on the feet, while Ortega has yet to demonstrate much in terms of his ground game.
Ortega has such an exciting style that he’ll likely get another chance on the Contender Series, but I think that Dasuyev is going to prove to be too much, too soon here. The striking exchanges are going to be absolutely electric while this one lasts, but I see “Spartan” mixing in the grappling to take the win here.
