- Afghanistan will wonder how they failed to claim the win in the opening ODI game of the series with Bangladesh as they blew an excellent position before succumbing to a four-wicket defeat.
- Fazalhaq Farooqi ripped through the Bangladesh top order as he claimed four wickets for 54 runs in a brilliant spell but he was offered very little support and their inability to get the job done having started so well will be a huge frustration.
THE PREDICTION
Bangladesh snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat in their first ODI against Afghanistan and the hosts know they will need to be much better to prevail for a second game in succession. Afghanistan looked to have the game sewn up when leaving the Tigers struggling at 45/6 in pursuit of 216 but failed to break up the seventh-wicket pairing of Afif Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz as their excellent partnership secured the win for the Tigers and with plenty of improvement to come from the hosts, they can claim a much more comfortable success in this second encounter.
