- Kolkata Knight Riders snapped their five-game losing streak last time out by beating Rajasthan Royals comprehensively, with seven wickets the margin of victory in a successful run chase of 153 in 19.1 overs.
- After a run of poor performances with the bat, Venkatesh Iyer was dropped from the KKR starting line-up against Rajasthan and it would be no surprise if he was to miss out once again here as Kolkata look to back up their win with the same XI.
THE PREDICTION
Although Kolkata Knight Riders can take plenty of confidence from their triumph over Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants in their current form represents a more challenging opponent. It’s difficult to see KKR being able to outscore such a quality top order such as Lucknow’s and regardless of whether they are setting or chasing a target, the Super Giants have to be favoured to extend their winning streak in this one and record an eighth IPL victory of the season.
