THE PREDICTION
Uganda may have been edged out by United Arab Emirates by just the one wicket in their Plate quarter-final, but bounced back well to beat Papua New Guinea by 35 runs, dismissing them for just 88 and now go up against a Scotland team who advanced to this 13th-place play-off after their most recent opponents Canada were unable to fulfil their scheduled fixture after a Covid-19 outbreak within their camp. Whilst Uganda’s victory over PNG will give them real confidence heading into this contest, Scotland are an all-round stronger side and the unforeseen break caused by the cancellation of their match against Canada may well suit them having allowed their squad the opportunity for some extra rest in what have been hot conditions throughout the tournament. With that in mind, back Scotland to overcome Uganda and secure 13th-place at this year’s Men’s Under-19 World Cup.
