  • St Helens increased their lead at the top of the Super League table with a big win over local rivals Wigan in their Good Friday derby with Saints’ second half display seeing them run out comfortable winners.

  • The league leaders didn’t concede a single point in the second period as they proved to have too much for the Warriors and following Warrington’s defeat to Salford, St Helens now sit four points clear at the top of the table.

  • Justin Holbrook has made four changes to his 19-man squad with Mark Percival, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Theo Fages and Zeb Taia all dropping out and they are replaced by Adam Swift, Joe Batchelor, Jack Ashworth and Jack Welsby.

HULL FC

Head Coach: Lee Radford

Squad: Connor, Faraimo, Fash, Green, Hadley, Kelly, Litten, Logan, Manu, Matongo, Minichiello, Naulago, Scott, Sneyd, Taylor, Thompson, Tuimavave, Westerman, Wynne

  • Hull FC were superb as they demolished local rivals Hull KR in a record-breaking victory on Good Friday with the Black and Whites racking up 56 points after winning the second half 38-0.

  • Following that win, head coach Lee Radford has opted to significantly rotate his squad with experienced pair Danny Houghton and Gareth Ellis afforded a rest along with Jordan Lane, Mickey Paea and Josh Griffin whilst youngster Jack Brown also drops out.

  • Chris Green makes his long-awaited return from an Achilles injury and could make his first appearance of the season along with Brad Fash and Cameron Scott whilst Ratu Naulago, Jordan Thompson and Jez Litten are also back in the 19.

THE PREDICTION

Both of these teams enjoyed big wins over their bitter rivals on Good Friday and have made numerous changes to their squads for their Easter Monday clash. Injury has forced a few of those changes but many more will be rested in order to protect the players over this gruelling Easter period. The starting line-ups will give a big indication on how this game will go when they are named an hour before kick-off but Saints should be able to edge this battle of attrition with Hull likely to miss the presence of Danny Houghton and Gareth Ellis in particular.
