Ajax vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction

Ajax have been a bit of a mess on and off the pitch in the last few years but the Dutch giants have the chance to properly re-establish themselves this season as they now take on an Eintracht Frankfurt side at the Johann Cruyff Arena this week.

Former Nice boss Francesco Farioli took charge of Ajax last summer with the Amsterdam-based giants re-establishing themselves at the top-of-the-table in the Eredivisie, punishing a faltering PSV Eindhoven side. They eventually had to edge past Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise by three goals to two on aggregate last month in the knockout playoffs.

Eintracht Frankfurt, coached by Dino Toppmoller, come into this one on the back of being humbled by Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend, losing 4-1 to the defending German champions. Frankfurt remain tucked inside the top four in the Bundesliga, sitting third, but their last two games have been losses to the top two, conceding eight goals in the process.

Frankfurt, though, will still believe they can take the game to most sides and a reinvigorated Ajax side means it will likely be quite an entertaining encounter in the Dutch capital this week.
