Victoria Mboko vs Jessica Bouzas Maneiro prediction

Victoria Mboko’s week is getting better all the time and after three excellent wins, she stepped up another level for the best win of her relatively short career.

The 18-year-old Canadian produced a stunning display to deservedly beat top seed Coco Gauff 6-1 6-4 and she showed zero signs of nerves at any stage throughout that match.

If the talented youngster had confidence after beating the likes of Marie Bouzkova and Sofia Kenin, she will be flying with belief after the win over Gauff.

She now meets Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in the quarter-finals who has grafted her way to reach this stage.

She has been involved in three three-set matches in four rounds so far and that includes her last match against Zhu Lin on Saturday. That was a match that could easily have gone either way and there is certainly room for improvement especially on her second serve that saw her win just 26% against Zhu.

Those numbers simply will not work against the in-form Mboko whose serve is looking really strong. The Canadian is flying right now and barring a major drop-off, her level of play is far superior to Bouzas Maneiro’s and we expect her to move into the semis.
