USA vs Panama Prediction

The United States are not playing competitive fixtures outside of the CONCACAF Nations League in this cycle having qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as hosts so these games take on more importance, aside from the fact it is a tournament semi-final in its own right.

The Americans overcame Jamaica by five goals to two on aggregate in the quarter-finals of the competition, defeating Steve McClaren’s Reggae Starz in the November international break. Since then they have defeated both Venezuela and Costa Rica in friendlies in January with a heavily weakened squad not including European-based players.

They face a Panama side that reached the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Nations League by defeating Costa Rica in dramatic fashion the other month. They won 3-2 on aggregate before having to cling on for the final few minutes at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez due to defender Fidel Escobar being sent off in the 80th minute.

The USMNT are still a work in progress under Mauricio Pochettino but they have shown signs of exciting attacking football and they will be expected to win this one quite comfortably.

USA vs Panama Tip: USA to win -1 handicap
