USA aren’t guaranteed a place in the knockout stage yet by any means, after having picked up just two points across their last two games. Defeat against Switzerland was followed though, by a crucial overtime win vs Norway which gives them a two-point cushion in the top four of Group B as it stands.

Germany have won three of their four group games played so far, but did struggle at the hands of Switzerland, losing 5-1 in that one. There were areas of their play that USA could exploit and when the competition heats up, the Americans so often come in clutch. That makes backing them potentially the shrewd play.
