Gregory Rodrigues: "Robocop" looks for revenge against a man who left him staring up at the lights in their first encounter
Fan favorite brawler, Gregory Rodrigues (18-6) gets his chance at revenge against the only man to finish him outside of Jared Cannonier since joining the UFC back in 2021. An athletic powerhouse, Rodrigues was primarily known as a grappler during the infancy of his career courtesy of multiple national BJJ titles, before “Robocop” realized he had a talent for high-octane brawls and knocking people silly with his heavy hands. Posting a 6-1 record since losing to Ferreira by KO in their first encounter, the Brazilian has proven to be one of the most ferocious and opportunistic finishers the modern middleweight division has to offer; his finish over Jack Hermansson at UFC 317 looked more like a crime scene than the end of an MMA fight.

Debuting in the promotion with a highlight reel KO over the man he faces once again on Saturday night, Brunno Ferreira (15-2) was touted by many as a potential future top contender in the wake of his devastating 2023 finish over "Robocop." However, while Ferreira has had some success since then, disappointing stoppage defeats to Nursulton Ruziboev and Abus Magomedov have put paid to much of the hype surrounding "The Hulk." A dangerous submission threat with murderous power in his hands, Ferreira has rebounded since his last loss with a three fight win streak, most recently earning the biggest victory of his career against Marvin Vettori last time out.
Gregory Rodrigues vs Brunno Ferreira prediction
Ferreira had the look of a potential elite contender when he flatlined “Robocop” in their first encounter, but Rodrigues arguably seems to be the fighter who has improved the most since then. He’s consistently proven to be a step ahead of any middleweights on the fringe of the top 10, scoring wins over extremely solid fighters in the vein of Christian Leroy Duncan and Jack Hermansson.
Furthermore, there’s a solid argument to be made that the residual damage from Rodrigues’ war with Chidi Njokuani immediately prior to losing to Ferreira played a factor in how quickly he hit the deck back in 2023, particularly considering that Cannonier is the only man to stop - or even beat - him since that result. Case in point, even a TKO from the notoriously heavy-handed “Killa Gorilla” was unable to lay him out flat in such brutal fashion. By contrast, Ferreira’s only KOs since dusting Rodrigues have come over Phil Hawes and Dustin Stoltzfus, two fighters renowned for suspect chins.
Ferreira has unquestionably got some serious power, but he’s chosen to rely more on his grappling to finish fights as of late, an area where he figures to have little success against the eight time National BJJ Champion. If Rodrigues respects the danger coming back in his direction and can resist recklessly charging into a brawl once again, his overall improvements since the first fight should be enough to see him to a revenge victory.
Prediction: Gregory Rodrigues to win
