Toulouse Preview: Toulouse on a good run
Spanish coach Carlos Martinez Novell is at the helm of an impressive Toulouse side that started the campaign quite slowly but they have propelled themselves into the middle-of-the-table. They have now, though, suffered two defeats in their last three matches.
The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Monaco at Stade Louis II last weekend. However, they won’t be too worried because they have won four and lost two of their last six games and those defeats have come up against Monaco as well as PSG.
Saint-Etienne Preview: Struggling ASSE
Following promotion back to the top-flight last season, Saint-Etienne have been steady in the last couple of months after a very disappointing start to the campaign. They begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting third-from-bottom in the relegation playoff place.
ASSE, under the management of former Montpellier Herault boss Olivier Dall’Oglio, come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss at home to Olympique de Marseille at the Stade Geoffrey-Guichard last weekend. They have now suffered three defeats in their last four matches.

Rasmus Nicolaisen is missing through injury for this weekend’s clash with Saint-Etienne but they have built quite a strong defence with the likes of former Leeds United Charlie Cresswell as well as United States international Mark McKenzie forming part of a back three.

Toulouse vs Saint-Etienne Prediction
Saint-Etienne will want to think that they can emulate the success of a supposed old stager of the French top-flight, Toulouse, by gaining promotion back to the top-flight and then rebuilding themselves into a mainstay that can eventually push into the top-half of the table. However, for the time being, there is an expectation that Toulouse will win this one quite comfortably, especially with their home advantage.
