The distances have been determined by using the shortest route by road on Google Maps (stadium to stadium).
TOTAL DISTANCES
- Swansea fans will have the furthest to travel in the 2022-23 Championship season. Their average away day commute will be 215.9 miles, meaning if any fan decides to attend all away league matches they'll clock up almost 10000 miles of total travel distance when you include the trip home!
- Birmingham fans are rewarded for being positioned in the middle of the country, as they have the least distance to travel for their 2022-23 Championship away days. An average drive of just 108.2 miles per away day awaits their fans.
WHAT IS THE LONGEST AWAY TRIP IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP?
- The match-up between Swansea and Sunderland represents the longest single away trip for all clubs in the 2022-23 Championship season (348 miles).
- In fact, a visit to either Swansea or Sunderland is the longest away day for 22 of the 24 Championship teams in the 2022-23 season.
WHAT IS THE SHORTEST AWAY TRIP IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP?
- The closest match-up in the Championship this season will be the West Midlands derby between West Brom and Birmingham, with just the seven miles separating the two stadiums.
- Poor Norwich fans won't have any away trips under 100 miles in the Championship this season, with Luton (103 miles) their closest opponent.
