TOMMY PAUL VS LUCIANO DARDERI PREDICTION
After claiming bronze in the Men’s Doubles in the Paris Olympics recently, Tommy Paul goes straight into the Canada Masters as the number ten seed and there is good reason to believe he will go far here given that he reached the semi-finals of the same tournament last year.
His first-round opponent, Luciano Darderi, will be no walkover though. The Italian is at a career high of 35 in the world and won his first ATP title this year when he went all the way in the Cordoba Open in February. That may have been on a clay court, but the 22-year-old has also achieved success in hard court tournaments on the World Tennis Tour earlier in his career.
Be that as it may, Paul is the favoured man here and will be full of confidence after his recent Olympic exertions. Expect Darderi to offer stern resistance, but the American should prevail.
