The 29-year-old beat Andy Murray at the Australian Open for a stand-out result from what has been a promising year so far, with a set taken from Jannik Sinner before losing in the third round in Melbourne. World number 34 Fabio Fognini is something of an anomaly here after the Italian pulled out of the second round of Indian Wells two weeks ago. The 34-year-old recently reached the semi-finals of the Rio Open before losing to eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz and if he brings that level he can extend his record against Daniel to 3-0. However, backing Daniel to win at least a set looks the shrewd move here as both of their previous meetings saw at least one go each way.
