World number four Stefanos Tsitsipas will be absolutely desperate to beat Borna Coric here after the Croat stunned him twice late last season, most notably in the Cincinnati Masters final. World number 26 Coric was last season’s ‘Comeback of the Year’ after returning from a year-long absence to eventually claim that first Masters crown and he made it 3-1 in a surprising head-to-head with Tsitsipas by later beating him from a set down at the Vienna Open. 24-year-old Tsitsipas has clearly enjoyed the United Cup experience alongside fellow top ten star Maria Sakkari, with whom he has played both Mixed Doubles matches in a clear statement of intent. The Greek has won all four of his matches so far, including a tight comeback over Grigor Dimitrov, but Coric has looked commanding in his two victories over Francisco Cerundolo and Arthur Rinderknech.
The suitably cautious pick would be for Tsitsipas, with higher-quality foes beaten this week, to earn at least a set here but with Greece likely 0-1 down by this match you can imagine the world number four finding that elusive extra gear to win outright.
