World number 43 Shuai Zhang recently won the third WTA title of her career at the Lyon Open in a sudden burst of form that saw victories over the likes of Dayana Yastremska and Caroline Garcia. The 33-year-old has a fair chance at winning this first meeting with Danish future star Clara Tauson but it more likely that the 19-year-old overpowers her opponent from the off. Tauson was the previous winner of the Lyon Open last season and she already has two WTA titles as a teenager after also winning in Luxembourg. She has needed the likes of Iga Swiatek, Paula Badosa and Danielle Collins to oust her from her last three tournaments and wins this season over Anett Kontaveit and Belinda Bencic put her well within the top 30 on working level.
