World number 43 Sebastian Korda totally outclassed an out-of-sorts Cam Norrie on Monday, conceding just seven games to the 12th seed. CORENTIN MOUTET
World number 100 Corentin Moutet dropped the first set to fellow Frenchman Luca Pouille on Monday before coming back strong to win in four sets. The diminutive left-hander is a handful on court but just as capable of winding up opponents as he is getting disqualified for his outbursts, as happened at Adelaide 1 two weeks ago. The 22-year-old has twice made the third round at Roland-Garros on his best surface.
THE PREDICTION
Level-headed future star Sebastian Korda will need every ounce of his patient mentality to overcome firebrand Corentin Moutet’s disruptive playstyle on Wednesday. Given his defeat of Cam Norrie it would be easy to pick the American to win in three once again here but Moutet is making a career for himself by staying in every point and putting the ball in awkward places, especially for the taller players on tour. Korda should be winning this first meeting in straight sets but the outright pick is the sensible one in a first meeting with a pretty unique opponent.
