World number 17 Reilly Opelka made short work of beating Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets on Saturday to set up a quick rematch with Denis Shapovalov. 24-year-old Opelka lost in four sets to Shapovalov in the third round of the Australian Open back in January but since then the American has won a third career ATP title at the inaugural Dallas Open and finished runner-up to Cam Norrie at the Delray Beach Open.

World number 13 Denis Shapovalov dropped the first set in a tough opening match with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on Saturday before rallying well to come through. The 22-year-old won the ATP Cup at the start of the season alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime in a youthful Team Canada and he has since enjoyed some great form in Men’s Doubles alongside Rohan Bopanna that should be helping his singles consistency.
THE PREDICTION
This match was hard to call at the Australian Open and now even harder in US soil, on which Reilly Opelka will be well-backed and has excellent recent form after reaching back-to-back finals on tour. World number 13 Denis Shapovalov has the higher ceiling but he is often reckless with it, whilst Opelka can be relied on to almost always produce a seven or eight out of 10 performance. The American will be motivated by revenge after a promising Australian Open run was cut short but the result looks too close to call.
