World number seven Ons Jabeur is yet to drop a set at the Ningbo Open after a consummate victory over Tamara Korpatsch on Wednesday. The 29-year-old has struggled to find her best level since the start of the hardcourt swing after suffering another heart-breaking defeat in the Wimbledon final, this time to Marketa Vondrousova, but she is still in the race to qualify for the WTA Finals for a second year running and she will make it her mission to do so. Former number two Vera Zvonareva battled past Katie Boulter in three sets on Monday and she has made a rare foray, these days at least, into the quarter-finals after Clara Tauson was forced to retire injured from their match on Wednesday. The 39-year-old should be better here with the whiff of a huge opportunity to win a first singles title in over a decade but Jabeur should be able to coast through another round here in relative ease. Back the Tunisian to win in straight sets.
