22-year-old Mattia Bellucci twice came back from sets down to edge through qualifying last week but he stands a genuine chance at a famous day on his Grand Slam debut. The world number 173 is aiming to claim the first tour-level match of his career here on Monday and former number 10 Frances Tiafoe brings a poor 11-11 record for 2024 into their first encounter to offer a glimmer of hope.
26-year-old Tiafoe reached the semi-finals of the US Open in 2022 and came close than anyone to beating eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz in a five set epic.
