Former world number 14 Marketa Vondrousova could do with a serious season in 2023 after being largely absent last year through various injuries. The 23-year-old is at her best on clay but she has impressed in stages on all surfaces and it would be fascinating to see where she can rise to with a prolonged bill of clean health. However, a fit and firing Vondrousova can be backed to earn at least a set here in the most sensible way to avoid picking a winner.
