World number 17 Marin Cilic received a bye to the first round of the Pune Open as the top seed this week but he could probably have done with the extra round’s practice after losing each of his last three matches last season. World number 74 Roberto Carballes Baena beat fellow Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles in straight sets on Monday. The 29-year-old stunned an admittedly unfit Matteo Berrettini at the Firenze Open late last year and he looks set to break his career-high ATP world ranking of 71st this month with a few more results. Cilic may start slowly here but it is hard to see him losing out to Carballes Baena in their first meeting. Back the Croat to win outright but consider RCB to earn at least a set as a riskier alternative.
