THE PREDICTION
Both world number 84 Lauren Davis and number 89 Xinyu Wang grabbed minor upsets against their Belgian round of 16 opponents on Wednesday, with Davis ousting in-form Ysaline Bonaventure in straight sets and Xinyu taking out Alison Van Uytvanck in three. 21-year-old Xinyu Wang started last season much the same form before injuries and setbacks saw her drift back into the latter top 100 but she has impressed in Hobart and she remains an obvious future prospect with a big game. 29-year-old Davis is yet to drop a set, though, from qualifying through to the quarter-finals and she grabbed one of her better recent results on Monday in a comfortable victory over Sloane Stephens. Back the American to take at least a set here and leave the victor up to chance in this tight first meeting.
