THE PREDICTION
This tie did not fail to deliver right until the climax of Frances Tiafoe’s epic comeback over Dan Evans but in doing so the American claimed the win in the Sydney City Final. Katie Swan was exceptional in a three-set defeat to world number 11 Madison Keys at the start of play before Cam Norrie overcame in-form Taylor Fritz to level things at 1-1 but world number three Jessica Pegula was simply too strong for Harriet Dart. There is still something to be played for here, though, as the best-scoring losing team will receive a bye to the semi-finals for a second bite at the apple. It is likely that these line-ups will stay roughly the same but Tiafoe may be swapped out for Fritz if the former is feeling fatigue and the USA may rest Pegula with their job done.
