World number one Iga Swiatek looks ready to win the Australian Open already after winning all five of her United Cup matches, singles and doubles, in straight sets. The 21-year-old currently owns twice as many ranking points as world number two Ons Jabeur after one of the most dominant seasons in recent times last season with eight titles claimed including two Grand Slams and four Masters. Four of the Swiatek’s eight titles were claimed via victories over world number three Jessica Pegula, who cannot seem to rid herself of the insatiable Pole. Swiatek beat Pegula in straight sets in the semi-finals of the Miami Open and quarter-finals at both Roland-Garros and the US Open but Pegula took the first set in their most recent meeting at the San Diego Open before falling in three.
28-year-old Pegula has been part of a totally stacked USA side at the United Cup but she did lose her opening singles clash with Petra Kvitova to see four wins from five.
