World number 14 Hubert Hurkacz overcame a difficult last-minute change in opponent to beat lucky loser Hugo Dellien in straight sets on Monday. The 25-year-old lost in the first round of the men’s Doubles alongside Jannik Sinner on Sunday but after losing to Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals of the Miami Open last time out he did claim the doubles title there alongside John Isner. 24-year-old Pedro Martinez will set a new career-high ATP world ranking of at least 42nd after overcoming an out-of-sorts Ugo Humbert on Monday. The Spaniard recently won his first ATP title at the Chile Open on his favoured clay and he will be a serious challenge here for Hurkacz on what is by far his least effective surface. The Pole will be the favourite to win here but backing Martinez to win at least a set could be the shrewd move given his form.
