FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME VS JACK DRAPER PREDICTION

After the disappointment of losing in the first round in Montreal last week, Felix Auger-Aliassime has found his form and focus this week in Cincinnati. The Canadian beat Aleksandar Kovacevic in the first round and then blasted past Casper Ruud 6-3 6-1 to move into the round of 16.

He now faces a quick turnaround on Friday with just a few hours rest before his clash with Jack Draper but he will have benefitted from the fact his win over Ruud took only 68 minutes.

Jack Draper was delighted to fight his way back from a set down against Stefanos Tsitsipas to win on Thursday. The Brit is coping with the heat and is enjoying the hard courts. He has now had two three-setters so there is every chance he struggles with fatigue as much as Auger-Aliassime.

They have met once before and that came two years ago in the US Open. Draper won that 6-4 6-4 6-4. That will give Draper some confidence, but Auger-Aliassime was that emphatic against Ruud, if he manages to maintain that level, he can win here. It really is close match to call and we’re just edging over 2.5 sets in this one.
