THE PREDICTION
World number three Daniil Medvedev is the defending champion here in Vienna and he started like it on Wednesday, ousting Antwerp runner-up Arthur Fils in straight sets. The 27-year-old has enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career with five ATP titles to his name already, including a first claimed on clay at the Rome Masters, and he only recently finished runner-up to Novak Djokovic at the US Open in his fourth Grand Slam final overall. World number 17 Grigor Dimitrov beat an out of sorts Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets on Tuesday to get his Vienna campaign underway and he reached the semi-finals here last season before a defeat in two to Medvedev. The 32-year-old stunned Carlos Alcaraz from a set down at the Shanghai Masters last time out, eventually losing to runner-up Andrey Rublev in the semi-finals, and his recent form should see him competitive against the top seed. Medvedev leads their head-to-head record 5-2 but Dimitrov is certainly in one of his stronger periods of recent years. Back Medvedev to win outright with three sets about as likely as two.
BETTING TIP: Daniil Medvedev to win.
