ALEXEI POPYRIN VS HUBERT HURKACZ PREDICTION

Hubert Hurkacz has had some tough tests so far this week with Arthur Rinderknech and Thanasi Kokkinakis both taking him to three sets. He will however be hoping for a more straight forward match against Alexei Popyrin who he has beaten in all three previous meetings.

All three matches have come at ATP 1000 events like this one and on hard courts, so that will fill him with confidence as well as the fact he has won all three in straight sets. There is plenty of improvement in his play to come and improving his 49% first serve percentage from his win over Rinderknech will be a key area to improve.

Popyrin will be buoyed by his three-set win over Grigor Dimitrov in the round of 16, the second seeded player he has beaten this week. The 25-year-old Australian is playing well this week but it is hard to make a case for him especially if Hurkacz improves his serve. Expect the Pole to progress to the semi-finals.
