Sinja Kraus vs Nikola Bartunkova prediction

Sinja Kraus continued her best ever run at a WTA 1000 event after advancing to the round-of-16 in Beijing after a straight sets win over Dayana Yastremska. Kraus broke on seven separate occasions, wrapping up a 6-1 6-4 victory over one hour and 33 minutes. The Austrian beat Maya Joint in her first-round match and then progressed after Anastasia Potapova’s retirement. 

She faces Nikola Bartunkova next. The Czech claimed the biggest win of her career so far after a victory over world number two and four-time Grand Slam champion Aryna Sabalenka. Bartunkova saved all five break points she offered up and won 83% of her first serve points on her way to a fabulous 6-4 6-3 win.

Bartunkova is emerging as a dangerous player on the tour and will be full of confidence after such a momentous victory in the previous round. She is the firm favourite to advance to the last eight.
