Former world number two Petra Kvitova looks like she means business this season after a straight-sets victory over Elena Rybakina. The 32-year-old was the only player to beat Jessica Pegula at the United Cup and she takes a three-match winning streak into the round of 16 for an enticing first meeting with world number 30 Qinwen Zheng. The 20-year-old is a serious rising star on the WTA tour who should break the top 20 this season with ease if she continues how she left off last year. A comeback victory over Shelby Rogers is a solid start to Adelaide 2 but a straight sets defeat to Victoria Azarenka last week suggests Kvitova may be able to overpower the Chinese if she finds her imperious shots early. Kvitova in this form should be able to edge through this but backing the Czech to win at least a set looks the most sensible option here.
