As expected, the momentum gained by defeating Slovenia via a shootout carried Slovakia into their contest against Denmark, which they controlled both defensively and offensively since taking the lead in the third period. They eventually triumphed 1-5, only conceding in the third period with the game already won and are almost assured of a spot in the last eight.

Czechia are right there with Slovakia, perched in third-place with their only defeat coming in overtime at the hands of Slovenia. Since then, they’ve beaten both Sweden and Italy. This is likely to be a close match-up with little to separate the pair across the ice.
