THE PREDICTION
Toulouse have defended their title with a whimper this season after a 23-16 loss at Stade Francais became their sixth loss in seven Top 14 games. The European champions have won just one of their last nine across all competitions and they face the very real prospect of losing at home to the next champions as leaders Montpellier visit with a spring in their step. Montpellier beat Toulon 18-16 last Saturday to go top of the league despite owning this game in-hand and given Toulouse only just ousted the previous leaders, Bordeaux Begles, 12-11 in their previous home game it could be worth backing the visitors to edge this with a +4 head-start. Montpellier seem the real deal this season with four wins and two draws out of nine away matches by far the most impressive away record in the Top 14.
