THE PREDICTION

All Ireland can do here is aim for a victory and hope that England do them a favour in the late game at the Stade de France, with a bonus point not required to win the Six Nations Championship here if France do end up losing control of the title for the second time in three seasons. Scotland’s opening day victory over England promised so much and they came agonisingly close to beating Wales a week later but this looks set to be their third defeat from five matches for another what-if campaign. Ireland have won the last six tests between the two sides, with Scotland last winning in Dublin way back in 2010 at Croke Park. Their last two wins at the Aviva Stadium have come by margins of 15 and seven, so splitting the difference at -11 looks a reasonable target for the hosts to cover here.
