THE PREDICTION
There are few tougher fixtures in European club rugby than Lyon at home and they proved that last Saturday with a 41-0 victory over Brive. Lyon have beaten reigning Top 14 champions Toulouse at home this season and they will as always be relying heavily on their fortress record to help them through the Challenge Cup pool stage. Travelling Gloucester beat struggling Bristol 27-10 last Friday to make it back-to-back wins in the Premiership as they maintain a steady assault on the play-off places. They are much-improved this season compared to last but this trip is likely to be a lesson learned and moved on from than anything close to a victory. Lyon could make this a cricket score but taking them to cover -15 seems a suitably cautious pick for the opening round of the Challenge Cup.
