THE PREDICTION
Wakefield Trinity and Hull FC will both harbour hopes of challenging for a play-off spot in 2022 and they will be eager to get off the mark in round 1. Trinity will head into the new season with Willie Poching in charge after he did a solid job as interim head coach at the back end of last year. For Hull, Brett Hodgson will head into his second season but is under pressure after struggling to build on a strong start last time around. Hull’s hopes hinge on the availability of key players and while Jake Connor comes into this as a doubt, if he lines up at fullback alongside the halves pairing of Josh Reynolds and new signing Luke Gale, Hull should have enough quality to prevail in this clash.
