THE TEAM NEWS

SYDNEY ROOSTERS

  • Sydney Roosters bounced back from their shambolic showing against the Dolphins in round 1 as they claimed the victory over New Zealand Warriors last week.
  • The Chooks will need to be much better here if they are to get the better of bitter rivals South Sydney Rabbitohs but have both Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Victor Radley back on deck in what is a huge boost.

Starting 13: Tedesco, Tupou, Suaalii, Manu, Paulo, Keary, Walker, Waerea-Hagreaves, B. Smith, Collins, E. Butcher, N. Butcher, Radley – Interchanges: Turpin, Hutchison, May, Baker – Reserves: Whyte, Thomas, S. Smith, Allan, Wong

Unavailable: Sitili Tupouniua (Injured), Connor Watson (Injured), Billy Smith (Injured), Angus Crichton (Personal reasons), Matt Lodge (Injured)

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs were below their best and that cost them as they fell to defeat against reigning premiers Penrith Panthers and they will be hopeful of a better showing as they aim to respond.
  • Souths turned the ball over too easily but will have a stronger 17 lining-up this week with Tevita Tatola and Hame Sele returning from injuries which sees Daniel Suluka-Fifita and Jed Cartwright make way.

Starting 13: L. Mitchell, Johnston, Tass, Graham, Tu’itupou Thompson, Walker, Ilias, Tatola, Cook, Burgess, Koloamatangi, Chee Kam, Murray – Interchanges: Taaffe, Sele, Moale, S. Mitchell – Reserves: Cartwright, Suluka-Fifita, Lovett, Milne, Mamouzelos

Unavailable: Liam Knight (Injured), Siliva Havili (Injured), Jai Arrow (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs will do battle as they renew their bitter rivalry. The Roosters have not started the season well but did enough to claim the win over New Zealand Warriors last week while the Rabbitohs succumbed to their first loss as they produced an underwhelming performance against Penrith Panthers. Both have plenty of room for improvement but the Rabbits can almost boast their strongest squad being available and having dominated recent matchups between the two with five wins in their last six, the Bunnies are favoured to get the job done in this encounter.
