Aryna Sabalenka vs Qinwen Zheng prediction

Qinwen Zheng will aim to make it lucky number seven when she battles world number one Aryna Sabalenka for a place in the semi-finals in Rome. 

The Chinese eighth seed defeated Bianca Andreescu 7-5 6-1 to tee up a last eight showdown with the Belarusian, who edged Marta Kostyuk 6-1 7-6.

Zheng has lost all six of their previous encounters, winning just one set along the way. 

Sabalenka won their most recent clash 6-2 7-5 in Miami earlier this year but perhaps the Olympic champion may fancy her chances more as they lock horns for the first time ever on clay. 

Zheng is going to have to do something different in her game-plan to do damage to Sabalenka and she did secure Olympic gold in similar conditions on the dirt, but we still can’t see much changing despite the switch away from her hard court woes in the match-up.
