Said Nurmagomedov (15-2) is back on the march after Raoni Barcelos snapped his seven-fight win streak. He dropped down to flyweight and won a split decision over Justin Scoggins (2019) on his UFC debut and then moved back up to fold Ricardo Ramos (2019) with a clinical spinning back kick. Barcelos outpointed him to halt his momentum, but Nurmagomedov has bounced back in impressive fashion by knocking out Mark Striegl (2020) and submitting Cody Stamann (2022).
Douglas Silva de Andrade (28-4(1)) has had a mixed bag in the UFC, but he has fought some monsters at bantamweight and featherweight. His losses have come to Zubaira Tukhugov (2014), Rob Font (2017), Petr Yan (2018) and Lerone Murphy (2021) however, he has responded well after that last loss to the Brit by knocking out Gaetano Pirrello (2021) and pulling off the best comeback of the year so far and submitting Sergey Morozov extending his UFC record to 6-4.

It seems the sky is the limit for Nurmagomedov if he was more active. He has only fought once since October 2020, but he did not show any signs of rust against the tough Stamann. The Russian was ruthless and we expect him to bring that same energy to the APEX.
He will have to be ruthless as de Andrade has a ton of heart and endurance. He will need every ounce of it unless he sorts his defence out. If he leaves his chin open, Nurmagomedov with find it like a laser with an array of strikes at his disposal. He is also a brilliant grappler from a sambo background and on paper he should take this all day with a finish not out the question.
