Melbourne Renegades vs Brisbane Heat prediction

It was a BBL 14 to forget for both Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat with neither winning even half of their league stage games, ensuring an early exit for the pair. The Heat won their opening two matches, then proceeded to win just once more across the rest of the season. For Melbourne Renegades, they are relying on an injection of Pakistan talent into their squad in the form of Mohammad Rizwan and Hassan Khan as they look to turn their fortunes around.

However, the Renegades do not start the campaign at full-strength with quick bowler Tom Rogers currently out injured. Whilst Andrew Tye has been signed as a replacement, not having Rogers available is a big blow when considering he was the second highest wicket-taker in the competition last season. That means plenty falls on the shoulders of new signing Jason Behrendorff, the only player to take more wickets than Rogers in BBL 14.

Brisbane Heat boast substantial top order quality in Matt Renshaw, Colin Munro and Max Bryant, but there are question marks about their depth of batting. Melbourne Renegades have a team with some dangerous hitters down the order, not least captain Will Sutherland and when combined together alongside players such as Rizwan, Caleb Jewell and Jake Fraser-McGurk, it makes backing them a move worth making.
